Stockholm University is announcing 9 PhD-scholarships within the newly established „Doctoral Programme in Language and Linguistics”. The programme invites doctoral students from all linguistic fields, including language history and comparative linguistics.

Candidates must be able to attest that they fulfill both the basic and the specific acceptance requirements to the graduate programme of one of the following subjects: Ancient Greek, Latin, Comparative Linguistics, Languages and cultures of Asia (Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Central Asian Studies), Arabic, English, Finnish, Germanic Languages, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Bilingualism, Computational Linguistics, Pedagogy of Language, Sign Language, Language Development, Scandinavian Languages, Slavic Languages, and Baltic Languages.
Positions in graduate research programs are provided as doctoral student appointments, i.e. employment positions. The doctoral program comprises four years of full-time study and the positions can be occupied for a maximum of eight years (in the case of half-time studies). Application date: October 14, 2011.
